Sadie is my 12-year-old dog and she means the world to me.
On Monday, 2/9/26, Sadie suddenly collapsed at home. It looked like a seizure, and I rushed her to the emergency vet. After a long night and a series of tests and administered medications, followed by more tests the following day-bloodwork, panels, X-rays, and 2 different types of ultrasounds—the vets discovered she has a heart arrhythmia and a large tumor on her spleen. Her liver is also slightly enlarged and showing elevated enzymes. On Friday 2/13, she got an echocardiogram to further explore why she collapsed, look into why she has an arrhythmia, and see if she would be able to handle surgery. She was cleared for her splenectomy and after surgery, her spleen/tumor and liver will be biopsied to find out more and go from there and possibly need treatment.
The costs have been overwhelming. The emergency visits, tests, medications, and procedures have already added up to close to $6,000 and the surgery will add thousands more. Every step is necessary to give Sadie the best chance at recovery and a happy life. I’m doing everything I can for her, but I can’t do it alone.
I wouldn’t have created this if it wasn’t an urgent and costly situation. I’m not ready to give up on Sadie, no matter what the results will be or the cost and time it takes to figure everything out and do what’s best for her health. If you are able to help, even a little bit, please consider donating or sharing this with others. It’s never easy to ask for help, and I know it’s not easy to give, either.
For those of you who do help, my gratitude can’t be put into words. Thank you so much for supporting Sadie and me.
