Help Sadia Rest After Surgery

Hi, my name is Sadia, and I'm getting top surgery in April!

EDIT: We have reached my original goal! Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed and shared. This will truly make my life easier and allow me to focus on recovery. 

 

I have been out as trans for around 8 years at this point, and just recently it has finally become more financially possible for me to get surgery. I've spent the past year and a half saving, researching, scheduling, and even getting married for insurance to make this possible. I have saved enough money for travel and sugery!

 

I am fundraising because I won't be able to work for a month after sugery, and I want to make up for lost income. While I factored in everything I need to save for, I didn't originally plan for the amount of money I'd lose by not being able to work. A month is kind of generous, but also feels realistic to me given my other ongoing medical issues that might be exacerbated by surgery.

 

$2000 - If we meet this its what I usually make in a month! I can comfortably cover groceries, rent, and other typical living expenses.

 

$500 - The extra $500 dollars is to cover the costs of things that will make my life easier post surgery, without financial strain. Things like the right kind of pillows to support me when I can't lay down fully, clothes that I can take on and off without raising my arms, takeout for when its difficult to feed myself. These are the kind of things that I would just love to not worry about so I can focus on recovery.
