Help Sachis family in wake of his mama's homicide

Throughout the years one of the people Asheville folks have been able to depend on is Sachi. Whether it's helping someone who lost their job with groceries, moving half the dirty kids in town when their leases are up or being a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community Sachi has been an example of the kind of neighbor and friend you want to have.

Just a few weeks ago he and his partner Natalie welcomed their first child together (his second) into the world, but a time that should be marked by joy and peace has been marred by the senseless murder of his mother last Friday.

Sachi and Nat were already in the middle of moving homes (with a newborn), and Saturday night, while Sachi was grieving someone broke into his Jeep and stole several thousand dollars of personal equipment and child safety equipment from him.

During this difficult time we are asking for your help by sharing or donating to help Sachi bury his mom and recover some of his lost items.

Having been through a death in the family recently I know how expensive final expenses can be. Sachi will also have to miss work for more than a week of work to travel to Georgia to plan the funeral

The total fundraiser represents enough money for him to pay for all final expenses ($6-7,500), travel expenses, and to cover missed wages for more than a week from work. It will also allow him to replace things that were stolen from him without having to wait on insurance to adjudicate and payout.
