Help Sabrina our Healthcare Hero fight Cancer
Donation protected
Hi our names are Alex and Georgie. Our friend and colleague Sabrina is a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Toronto General Hospital. She was a clinical student at the beginning of COVID, an unprecedented pandemic, at the busiest hospital in Toronto. As a new grad, she started her career at the height of wave 3, risking her life to treat and save others at their worst. Shortly after, she started experiencing headaches and got the devastating news that she had Cerebellar Medulloblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer in adults that tends to spread through the CSF (fluid that protects your brain and spinal fluid). After receiving this devastating news, she did receive some happy news that she was one of the successful full-time candidates in the Respiratory Therapy Department. Unfortunately, because she did not have a chance to work a full time shift, her funds are running out. Sabrina is one of the kindest, most selfless people we know, with a quiet confidence that precedes the events she has had to go through thus far. Since August, she has had to undergo 3 surgeries, brain and spine radiation, treatment for a pulmonary embolism, several admissions to the hospital and she's waiting to start chemotherapy. As a 25yr old starting your career in a new city away from home this is the last thing you would have ever imagined. Thank You for your support.
