Help Sabrina Hurley Rebuild Her Life EDIT Thank you everyone

Donation protected
Update 2: We wanted to thank everyone again for donating. She recently received news that a massive bill from her hospital stay was just sent to her directly for billing. This was completely unexpected. The generosity everyone has been shown has been absolutely overwhelming. You are all good people and I'm lucky to have known you guys.

Update: I want to thank everyone who donated. Although we haven't reached our goal yet this will be a great help and a great start to Sabrina getting life back in order. You guys are incredible.

Hello. My name is Taylor B. I went to New Prague High school for a bit in the 90s. One of our classmates has hit very hard times and is doing the hard work to pull herself up.

Sabrina Hurley has suffered a number of tragedies in her life: she was bullied ruthlessly in school, faced abuse by many people she relied upon, and very recently nearly died from complications from multiple medical issues. She doesn't have a family support system, so she is essentially on her own with nobody to lend a hand. I'm hoping to do something about that.

She had lost nearly everything. She has been nearly a year since she lost everything with her extended hospitalization and now and is working her plan to better herself and finally internalize the fact that she is worthy of love and kindness. In my conversations with her she's revealed the extent of the abuse she suffered from childhood (bullying, abuse by family members, etc) to adulthood (abusive relationships, abandonment by family, and very little support of any sort.)

Recently she was hospitalized with a pneumonia and collapsed lung. She nearly died then in the hospital. The exteneded hospitalization revealed bone spurs in her spine, hypoglycemia and near-critical organ failure. Though she has recovered somewhat, she was in a wheelchair for a number of months, then a walker. Now she is walking unassisted again and wants to put life back together again, finally understanding that she is worthy of love and respect. She should have always known that; that she didn't is such a sad thing.

That last illness was the horse kick that broke the shed and she lost her home, her employment and nearly her life. Since then she has been in and out of homelessness and on oxygen 24-7. Despite all this she has continued to push forward with her goals and hasn't let these tragedies knock her off her course.

But now, she needs help. She lost her car during the last hospitalization and without that she's stuck.

I remember how terribly she was treated when we were young. I wish I had the clarity of mind to do something about back then. I'm sure many of us do. It was shameful. I'm ashamed of my behavior. I want to see if we can pull together and try to do something solid for her in her time of extreme need.

3500 should be enough to get her a car so she can get her old job back. Any extra would go to medical bills, housing, and training for the IT career she wants to pursue.

Thank you all for listening. Please give what you can.
