Help Sabrina get to Dr. Keshishian

Donation protected
I am sure many of us have seen the struggles our very own Sabrina Procell has been going through. Sabrina has been doing home health care since being released from the hospital, however has essentially given up and has told her family she no longer has the fight in her and would like to go into hospice care. Her husband, Harley, however would still like to fight. After her most recent hospital stay, he listened to the advice given by many and reached out to Dr. K in Cali (I am including Harley’s email below as it gives a pretty good history of what has been going on) who has agreed to take on Sabrina as a patient. There are costs however with them getting to cali and being there for about a month. Flight, lodging etc. Harley has been on catasprophic leave for the last couple months to help care for his wife and hopefully that will be extended another month while they make the trek to Cali. I know with the holidays coming, it will be hard for most, but even $5 will make a huge difference. Those small donations will hopefully add up to what Sabrina needs to get to Cali and finally get some answers. And to tug at your heartstrings just a little harder, both Sabrina and Harley are vets. We talk all the time about supporting our vets, well here is your chance.   Harley’s email below to Dr. K: DR. K I am writing to you in desperation.  My wife of 25 years is very sick.  Two years ago she consented to a Traditional DS through a weight loss clinic in Fayetteville Arkansas.  After surgery she experienced severe pain and several crippling complications.  She went to several support groups online and was urged to request her surgery report.  Upon examination of said report it was determined that she actually received a SIPS / SADI procedure.  We have been through so much in these last two years (I have included a timeline below).  We have been told by so many people that you are the only one to trust with this.  I don't want to see my wife die but I also don't want her to have to live in pain constantly.  Please if you think you can help us please call us please Dr. K    1. Bariatric surgery SIPS/SADI with Dr. Kwon through Roller weight loss in Fayetteville Arkansas. 2. Had pain immediately following surgery. Dr. Kwon ordered EGD with a Dr. in Springdale Arkansas.  He found a stricture above the stomach and expanded it with a balloon.  3. Pain continued and got worse, Dr. Kwon removed  Gall Bladder. Pain continued. 4. Dr. Kwon blamed phantom Gall Bladder pain. Prescribed pain meds but pain persisted. Over the course of a year and a half went from 351 lbs to 135 lbs. 5. Health started deteriorating. Blood pressure dropped and became orthostaticaly intolerant. Started passing out and experiencing some neurologic issues, legs not responding when she tried to walk, seizures, and passing out for long periods of time.  6. Went to the VA for pain control and health issues.    6. A. They did an EGD that found excess suture material had adhered to stomach wall and ulcerated. (They removed and treated ulcer)   6. B.  During VA hospital stay started spiking fevers and having several organs start to fail tests. Diagnosis : systemic organ failure due to  chronic malnutrition.  Hospitalists stated "without surgical intervention she would die within the year"   7.  In Aug of 2018 Collapsed in front yard in cardiac arrest.  Brother had to administer CPR while waiting for ambulance.  Upon arrival paramedic stated she was in Afib and transported to Northwest Medical Center in Springdale Arkansas.    7.A.  While in Emergency room her blood pressure consistently read between 60 and 70 over 30.    7. B.  When asked for a urine sample peed dark red blood with no signs of a UTI.   7. C. Was found to be chronically malnourished as well as severely dehydrated. NOTE:  Prior to surgery Sabrina would sip they same drink all day. Post surgery she has been insatiable with her thirst.  She drinks liquids all day going through large drink bottles one after the other yet she was severely dehydrated.   7. D. Bariatric surgeon on call at the hospital was Dr. Merrot from Roller Weight loss. He determined her bladder had contracted and started to bleed due to dehydration and she needed to be started on TPN to try to get her strength back.    7. E. After one month on TPN gained 14 lbs. 8.  With TPN started home health blood draws once a week. 9.  Oct 6th 2018 : Spiked a fever of 105°f and went to ER.    9. A. tested positive for Sepsis infection and Liver Failure.  Admitted to hospital.    9. B. Dr. Simpson ran an Upper GI with small bowel follow through.  Found barium pooled for over an hour in one location before passing through.     9. C. Dr. Simpson referred us to Bailey bariatrics.   10. Met with a Dr. Katsis at Oklahoma Surgical Hospital in Tulsa OK. He seemed to be sincere in his concern for her health and wanted to do an EGD personally so he could get an idea of what exactly Dr. Kwon had done with her sleeve.  During intial meeting mentioned something to the effect of perhaps a mixture of DS and RNY would be the solution to Sabrina's issues.  My wife immediately stated that she had researched RNY and wanted nothing to do with it. He said that most DS surgeries have some aspects of an RNY and he would explain more later.  11. After the EGD Dr. Katsis stated that he immediately spotted two issues   11. A. Just above her sleeve where it is supposed to start a funnel type shape there is a "dog ear" flap that is usually caused when the surgeon doesn't take enough material from around the esophagus to begin with.    11. B. Just beyond the sleeve, at the sight of the anastomosis there is a small "non-pliable" area that could be causing a type of blockage hindering the ability of the muscles to move material.   NOW he once again mentioned RNY and Sabrina once again even after just waking up said she wanted NOTHING to do with a RNY.  He said okay we should sit down later at an appointment when she hasn't just woken up and discuss this, where he can draw things out and explaine why he felt he needed to do it this way.  Dr. K I have personally gone on these support groups and asked for help and advice in advocating for my wife and EVERYONE keeps screaming out your name. Telling me over and over again not to trust anyone but you. My wife is literally dying and she believes you are her only hope of some type of normal life.  I am praying for a response from you. Sincerely  Harley Procell
