Help Sabrina and Her Girls in Their Time of Need

Donation protected
Sabrina and her three amazing girls have lived in Warrensburg for over 5 years with her husband who I won’t name at this point. You may not have had the pleasure of meeting them as her brilliant girls (14,13,&11) are homeschooled. Sabrina doesn’t have much of a work history as homeschooling three girls and creating their own version of a homestead has always been her main goal. During the summers however she got her hands dirty, working in landscaping for 12-14 hours a day. Sabrina and her husband were in the process (or so they thought) of purchasing their home from his mother in a sort of rent to own verbal agreement. They had paid a great deal of money towards this house and started some repairs but their world and their home started crashing down around them recently and how Sabrina has stood strong through it all is beyond me.

Two months ago Sabrina found some questionable photos on her husband’s phone of one of her daughters, his step daughter. They weren’t nude but they gave her an uncomfortable feeling. When she confronted him about them they fought bad enough the the police responded and her in laws showed up to the property. Sabrina kept quiet and didn’t explain what they were arguing about, knowing that fully clothed photos and a gut feeling isn’t actual proof of anything. She needed actual evidence and time to find it before moving forward. The next day her mother in law started an illegal eviction process, threatening Sabrina with law suits over structural damage occurring at the property. Damage that was severe 20 years ago when I stayed in the same home. Sabrina brought in contractors to assess the damage and was told that the home isn’t safe to live in. Her and her husband began looking for a safe home and settled on one that wasn’t exactly what they were looking for but is structurally sound and safe for their family. All while Sabrina continued to look for the evidence that her intuition was telling her she would find and keeping her daughters safe from someone they should have been able to trust.

And then it happened. She had the proof she needed. Around the time they began getting ready to move the restraining orders were issued and an investigation began. Yesterday morning before things took a turn for the worst the possible charges were child pornography and endangering the welfare of a child with others to be added if needed. Rather than face the courts this week at the scheduled hearing to make the temporary restraining order permanent, he took the easy way out by ending his own life. Sabrina wasn’t notified by a sheriff, a hospital employee, ems or a Dr. She was made aware by a coworker of her Husband. She had to call the Washington County Sheriff’s office to get any confirmation.

Sabrina and her girls have been left in an impossible position. Not only will they not receive the closure and justice that was deserved but they are left with a new house payment, vehicle payment, every cost of living and supporting three children (which as well all know is extremely high at this point). Sabrina was scheduled to begin a new job today. That has been postponed while she process everything that has happened and helps her children begin to heal. There are very intense and conflicting emotions for all of them. Anger, hatred, resentment, and love. Yes this man did something horrible and I will not make any excuses for his actions as there are none but for 8 years he groomed this entire family. For 8 years he manipulated them into believing he was someone that he was not. For 8 years he had their trust and love. That’s not going to go away over night. Only time, love, and support from their community will help these ladies begin to heal.

If you have made it this far I want to thank you, this is an extremely long and difficult post to make let alone to read. My goal for starting this is to have our community pull together like I’ve seen happen so many times before, and help relieve some of the financial pressure from Sabrina and her girls until they can get their footing. These ladies have been through so much, most of us would have crumbled under the weight of just one of the obstacles life has thrown at them in the last few weeks, I know I would have. But their strength and determination amazes me. So please if you are able to help in any way shape or form don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I will personally pass everything along to Sabrina until she is able to take over without being overwhelmed by messages while she does what needs to be done.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!
