Our dog Sable ran off two weeks ago while we weren’t home. We tried relentlessly to find him—putting up flyers, calling every vet, humane society, animal control, and kennel we could think of. I went door to door in our neighborhood, drove around every day calling for him, and even had a drone company, Ariel Solutions, come out to help. We walked the woods over and over again, hoping for any sign of Sable, but for a long time, we had no luck.

Finally, after two weeks and one day, we started getting calls from people in the same area who thought they saw Sable. They all reported that he was limping and looked hurt. We rushed to the area, searched the woods, and called Ariel Solutions back to help us track him down. After three days of searching, we finally had some luck—my wife wore my hoodie, and Sable recognized her scent and came back to us. We took him straight to the vet, where they found and removed ticks, gave him medicine, and ran x-rays and blood tests. That’s when we learned Sable had a broken leg.

We had already spent so much trying to find him, and now, with the cost of surgery, medicine, and multiple vet visits, it’s become a big financial burden for our family. We’re already doing our best raising three young boys and two dogs, but we had to do whatever it took to bring our baby home. Now, we’re asking for support from our community to help us get through this hard time and give Sable the care he needs to recover.
