Help Sabina Brown (formerly Sabina Markin)
Donation protected

Our goal is to help Sabina with the following:-
1. Obtain a custom fitted prosthetic limb,
2. Purchase a motorized wheelchair for ease of movement
3. Move out of her two-story accommodation into a single-story apartment so that she can get around more easily.
4. Access improved medical care so her already delicate health situation does not deteriorate any further
For those of you who knew Sabina before her unfortunate situation, she was a very bubbly and energetic person full of fun and vitality. Some of you may not be aware that Sabina has been diabetic for years and insulin-dependent for most of those years. She seemed to be coping well with her situation, until a sequence of unfortunate recent events sent her condition into a downward spiral.
About two years ago, the unimaginable happened. One night while she was sleeping in her rented accommodation, a mouse found its way into her bedroom and managed to inflict a wound on one her toes. Being diabetic she did not feel any pain when the mouse bit her, and only found out the next morning when her grandchild noticed a large stain of blood on her bedsheets.
As with a lot of diabetic patients, the wound continued to fester and became infected despite all types of treatment. Eventually it got so bad that doctors decided there wasn’t much they could do to stop further spread of the infection. Shortly thereafter, the sad but tough decision was made to amputate her leg above the knee.
She currently lives on the first floor of a rented apartment building and has severe difficulty getting up and down the stairs when she needs to go to church, or to her regular medical appointments.
I appeal to your deepest sense of compassion and generosity to help our friend, sister, mother, and grandmother to regain some semblance of normality back into her life. Thank you for support.
