On behalf of the Trustees of the SAaS and the communities we represent in the SouthWest of England. we seek to raise funds for Nepal and Tibet after the recent flash floods and upheaval (26/08/2026). We have all been deeply shocked and saddened by the reports emerging from Nepal and Tibet of the widespread destruction and human suffering.

Hence as Trustees, and on behalf of all Trustees of SAaS, we, Drs. Bharat Shreshtha and Smita Tripathi have launched an urgent appeal to support the people of Nepal who have been devastated by the recent flash floods.

Entire communities have been affected, with families displaced, homes destroyed, and many facing an immediate shortage of food, clean water, shelter and essential medical support.

We are working to raise £5000 plus to support the emergency relief efforts being coordinated by the Government of Nepal and local humanitarian agencies on the ground. Every contribution, no matter how large or small, will help provide life-saving assistance to those affected by this tragedy through the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund Government of Nepal https://pmdrf.nchl.com.np/

As trustees, community members, friends and supporters of the South Asian Community based in Plymouth and the SouthWest, we have an opportunity to come together in solidarity with our Nepali brothers and sisters during this difficult time. Nepal has shown remarkable resilience in the face of adversity, but the scale of this disaster requires urgent international support.
