My name is Donnesha, and I am the proud mom of Ryleigh Jordan, my bright and resilient 7-year-old daughter. Ryleigh has faced some challenges since she was just 6 months old, when she was diagnosed with cataracts. Despite her condition, she continues to persevere and inspire everyone around her. She loves to paint, write, and express herself through fashion. Even though her left eye turns 45 degrees to the side, Ryleigh never lets it dim her spirit.

As a single mom, I do everything I can to provide for Ryleigh, especially when it comes to her eye care. I pay out of pocket for her appointments to make sure she receives the best care possible. Recently, we’ve reached a point where I am emotionally and financially depleted. Ryleigh now needs a third open eye surgery, and her father, who is required to carry her on his insurance, has cancelled it and will not provide the necessary paperwork so she is without insurance. He also will not help in any way. I am left to cover all the costs on my own.

The funds raised will go directly toward the cost of Ryleigh’s surgery, as well as accommodations like hotel, food, and travel. Each appointment requires a two-hour drive there and back, and I want to make sure Ryleigh can rest after surgery instead of getting back on the road right away. I will also need to take time off work to care for her and ensure she recovers safely. We are at a moment in our lives where I need help to make sure my daughter gets what she needs.
