Help Rylee's Journey to Safety

Greetings, everybody, and happy Pride Month.

My name is Rylee. I am a trans person currently living in Texas. I love learning languages, hiking, horror fiction, and my cat, Czar Peter, as well as all the people in my life.

As you might know, Texas is rapidly becoming quite dangerous for trans people and resulting in widespread flight from the state. I stayed to complete my education as a Sign Language Communicator, scrimping and saving to make good my escape, as well as help other fellow trans folx get out as well.

We are fleeing to Rhode Island, a state with a history of allyship and progressive ideology to start a safehouse for other LGBT folks fleeing oppression in the Southern states. To make good our flight and establish ourselves with a strong foundation, we are getting a moving container to salvage all we can from our current situations.

However, we have hit a significant snag. In spite of our best efforts--taking out a loan, working 70 hours /week, donating plasma, and cutting unnecessary expenses by a significant margin--we are still $500 short of affording the transport costs of the moving container.

We need your help to get over this final hump. Any amount raised over the $500 will be used to secure our position in Rhode Island and pay down any outstanding debts accrued as a result of saving for this move.
