Help Rylan Osmanson Battle Stage 4 Cancer

Many of you know my brother, Colin Osmanson. We were raised in Missoula, and Colin has many people here who still love him. He has lived in Helena for many years and has successfully helped create four boys, three of whom come from my sister-in-law, Delsi. Colin and Delsi have been together for 20 years and married for 11.

As we all know too well, our lives can change in the blink of an eye, and then life will never be the same. We just always hope it doesn’t hit our family. Every family hopes and prays the same.

Recently, Rylan was taken to the doctor, and after many visits and a surgery, we were given the devastating news that it was cancer. It’s a rare soft tissue cancer called anaplastic rhabdomyosarcoma. After further testing, today we found that it has metastasized to his hips and lymph nodes, diagnosis - stage 4. He’s 13 and in 7th grade with a whole life to live. Starting Friday, the traveling begins because only two cities in Montana are equipped to address this in a minor and that is either Kalispell or Billings.

The chemo is going to be very aggressive. Both Colin and Delsi will be by his side every step of the way. That’s where I, big sis, steps in, and I will try to get them as much help as possible, removing some burden, for a bit I hope. Those are my intentions.

Asking for help is not easy. However, with the serious road ahead, Colin and Delsi would appreciate anyone who can financially help, and any donation would be appreciated. This will be a long journey, and they also have two other young boys to care for. If you cannot help, that’s okay; stay tuned for the updates. Colin will try to update you at least once a week or when a milestone has been reached.
