Meet Ryker. He is one of my friend's sons. He is 8 years old and has Spina Bifida. He uses a wheelchair to get around, but that doesn't hold this boy back! He recently got a new wheelchair, got to pick his color and all. He was so excited! That is like better than getting a new pair of shoes for school!
He left the chair out on the porch when he went in to change his shorts, and someone stole it. This sweet, humble boy with a genuine heart of gold was not upset nor angry, but Ryker told his mom, "If someone took it, they must need it more than me."
His new wheelchair was not cheap, and took a while for his parents to save.
Ryker was willing to color pictures raise the money for a new wheelchair himself. But to hear that sweet boy be so proud humble and then offer to do it himself because he knows that saving that money was a lot for his parents just makes me want to help him and his family, and make sure that I have more of a forgiving and kind heart like this 8-year-old. If you feel like helping, know they will genuinely appreciate it and be so thankful.
