Hi there, my name is Ryder Pond and for the past four years I have been preparing mentally and physically to thru hike the Appalachian Trail. I am 17 years old and just graduated high school, so before I start my first semester of college, I will be attempting a thru hike of the Appalachian trail. The Appalachian trail spans over 2100 miles starting in Georgia and continuing all the way to Maine. During this journey, I will carry all of my belongings on my back and live in nature all day every day for four months. However, with college right around the corner, I have found financing this mission challenging. This has been a dream of mine since I was in middle school and now I’m so close to making it reality. if you are able, a single dollar makes a huge difference by enabling me to purchase food and wash the one pair of clothes I will be wearing for four months straight.
