Please consider helping little Ryder and his family. Ryder was born on April 20th at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He will live in North Carolina but his parents will go wherever they need to help their precious baby boy. He has Congenital Diaphragmatic hernia (a hernia in his diaphragm). A diaphragmatic hernia is a life-threatening illness and requires care in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Babies with diaphragmatic hernia are often unable to breathe effectively on their own because their lungs are underdeveloped. Congenital diaphragmatic hernias require urgent surgery. Surgery must be performed to remove the abdominal organs from the chest and place them back into the abdomen. The surgeon will then repair the diaphragm. CDH occurs in about 1 in 2,000 - 1 in 5,000 live births. He’s got a long fight ahead of him but the name Ryder means warrior. He will come through this..... The surgery team is meeting on Monday to discuss his surgery. This young family is also dealing with the fact that the families bread winner was laid off a couple of weeks ago due to the Covid 19 Epidemic so are unemployed at this time.
