#MommaLou - Dear friends,
Ryan's in law and Heather’s mom “Mary Lou” aka “MommaLou” or as #DaGirlz call her “GrammyLou” has been approved to continue her hospice care in their home here in Tennessee.
Here’s their story
Her lung cancer returned 6 months back and she fought like a warrior with several rounds of chemo. But the chemo took her down and landed her in and out of hospital icu’s with different infections including pneumonia and c-dif. It’s been a whirlwind.
I took a trip to see her in AZ last week and the AC went out in the 5 bed assisted living house she’s staying at. At one point it reached 88 degrees in her room.
Cooling her off with wet paper towels and ice bags, I held her fragile hand and she whispered softly that she didn’t want to be there, she wanted to be with her grand babies, Heather and me. I asked her if she wanted to come live with us and she softly replied yes.
Due to her fragile “bed ridden” state, we are happy to announce we will be transporting her via “Air Ambulance” out of Phoenix into Nashville. Bedside to bedside with a critical care nurse and paramedic to support her.
We have nothing but glowing reviews so far for “Angel MedFlight” based out of Scottsdale, the Banner Hospice team in Phoenix & Alive Hospice in Nashville.
Transport should be taking place tomorrow or Thursday, please pray for a smooth transition and for the entire family as we navigate through this next stage.
