Hi, my name is Peg Schaudt; most of you know me as Ryan and Hannah's mom. My son Ryan has been dealing with a mysterious illness for close to a year now. He's gone from 223 to 127 pounds even while consuming upwards of 2,000 calories a day. His autism and epilepsy have always been manageable, but now he has gotten very aggressive (SOOO not him!) and attacks us unprovoked. He's seen his neurologist, his PCP, a psychiatrist, and an endocrinologist...no one has found the cause of his issues. His neurologist has now just ordered two more MRIs of his brain and pituitary to reexamine a tiny pituitary tumor found last October. The money raised will be for our travel to West Bloomfield and then on to Detroit to meet with his neurologist in the days following to get his results. His primary doctor wants to refer him to the Mayo Clinic if the MRIs come back clear. We do have free housing in AZ while we would be at Mayo, but we would need to rent a car to get to and from Mayo and for food. We have roughly $250 in airline credits for our flights so that will definitely help also. Anyone who knows Ryan knows that there is something seriously wrong. Gone is our happy boy who was always smiling and making happy noises, playing on his computer, doing puzzles, riding his bike, and he loved camping. What he's become is sad. It's terrifying. Larry and I have literally been watching our boy deteriorate physically and mentally before our eyes and can't help him.
