Hi friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,
I’m raising funds to help take my 5-year-old son, Ryan, and his brother CJ on a very special trip to Georgia, where we hope to visit Atlanta and Plains, the hometown of President Jimmy Carter—what Ryan calls “Jimmy Carter World.”
Ryan recently had a Jimmy Carter–themed 5th birthday party, and his admiration for President Carter goes far beyond decorations. He truly loves Jimmy Carter. Ryan sleeps with his Jimmy Carter pillow and blanket, proudly wears his “Jimmy Jammies” and T-shirts, and talks often about wanting to see where Jimmy Carter lived and helped people. Ryan is already following in Jimmy Carter’s footsteps.
At just 5 years old, Ryan volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, helping build a playhouse alongside expert supervisors. He is also a natural advocate—standing up for friends and family when they need it. His empathy at such a young age is truly inspiring!
As a single mom and a special education teacher, I do my best to give my children meaningful experiences. This trip would be more than a vacation. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Ryan to see firsthand how compassion and service can shape the world, and to encourage both Ryan and CJ to continue growing into caring, empathetic, community-minded people.
Funds raised will help cover travel to Georgia, lodging, transportation between Atlanta and Plains, and admission to educational and historical sites.
I am incredibly grateful for any support, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping make this dream come true for my boys—especially for my little guy who believes in doing good for others and wants to be “Just like Jimmy.”
Thank you!! Lauren
