Help Ryan Vahey Rebuild His Studio

Donation protected
If you know Ryan, you know his studio is where he is most at home. Last week, he was woken up in the middle of the night to learn that a fire was destroying the building that had housed his, and his friends’ studios and galleries for more than 10 years. Just a few days earlier Ryan had celebrated the opening of a collaborative piece he worked on that was showing in Hot Woods Arts, which was also in the same building.

Ryan has been a core part of both the artist and local community in Red Hook for over a decade. When you’re with him, it’s usually just a matter of minutes before someone he knows walks by, and he will always go out of his way to make sure everyone leaves as friends. He cares deeply, shows up for those around him, and quickly becomes an important part of the lives he touches. He is one of the most hardworking, kind, generous, and talented members of our community, and he shouldn’t have to face this on his own.

His studio, which was a work of art itself, was full of memories and artwork that can never be replaced, but we can help him rebuild. Let’s come together to help him replace the things that can be: his instruments, recording equipment, projection equipment, computers, and more so he can get back to doing what he does best as soon as possible. Once he’s back in the studio, I know he will alchemize this loss into something beautiful.

Please give what you can, or share this with your networks to spread the word. Every piece of support will be deeply appreciated.
