When Ryan was born, he got stuck in the canal and his arm was pulled to force him out. Unfortunately, this caused neonatal brachial plexus palsy, and it was never properly treated.
This year, Ryan had the chance to regain the use of his right arm by having a major surgery to remove the nerves from his little toes and insert those same nerves into his damaged shoulder. The cost of this surgery in Rwanda is 2,000,000 Rwandan francs, which comes out to about $1800 US dollars. That's more than a year's worth of salary for the majority of Rwandans! The hospital is putting pressure on the family to pay by the end of August.
We could really use your help to help Ryan!
