Ryan is a friend I met through my church, and he has faced more than his share of challenges in recent years. For a long time, Ryan has struggled with OCD, a condition that can be incredibly debilitating and has held him back in many ways. Despite these difficulties, he has always tried to move forward, but life dealt him another blow when his wife unexpectedly passed away two to three years ago. Her loss was not only emotionally devastating but also left Ryan with a significant loss of income, making it even harder for him to manage day-to-day expenses.

One of the biggest financial burdens Ryan faces is a car lease that he and his wife took on together. Even with two incomes, the lease was a stretch, and now, on his own, it has become overwhelming. The terms of the lease mean that by the time it is paid off, the car will have cost nearly three times its value, and to make matters worse, the car is now having frequent maintenance issues that Ryan simply cannot afford. The leasing company cannot be expected to change its policies, and Ryan is legally obligated to continue making payments. Once the lease is over, he will still need to find a way to replace the car, adding to his stress and uncertainty.

In addition to the car lease, Ryan is dealing with medical bills from before his wife's passing, his own ongoing health needs, and the challenge of affording rent on the trailer where he lives. Smaller debts have also accumulated over time, creating a constant sense of financial pressure. Ryan is a bright and caring person, but after all he has been through, he is struggling with confidence and hope. He lives on Social Security and disability, which barely covers his basic needs. Without outside help, I do not see how Ryan can dig himself out of this predicament. He needs prayer, kindness, and the support of people who are willing to help. Any contribution, whether financial or simply sharing this fundraiser, will make a real difference in helping Ryan regain stability and hope for the future.
