Dear loved ones and kindhearted strangers,
In July of this year, our world turned upside down. Just days after celebrating the 4th of July holiday with family and friends, Ryan, at only 32 years old, was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer.
At first it didn’t feel real. How could someone so young, healthy, and strong as him suddenly be told something so devastating? After multiple tests and biopsies, the diagnosis was confirmed, and life as we knew it came to a halt. Ryan had just completed his schooling to become a licensed massage therapist only weeks before this diagnosis, which has now put his new career on hold. Work, playing football every weekend, going to the gym, exploring nature or the city, and the routines of normal daily life all stopped.
Everything shifted overnight to focus on one thing: fighting for his life.
If you know Ryan, you know that giving up isn’t in his DNA. He has faced this challenge with incredible strength and positivity. He refuses to let this disease define him. He’s approached every scan, hospital stay, and every round of treatment with the same determination and resilience that he's faced all of life's challenges with. It's inspiring to many to hear his words of courage and positivity.
Though this fight has taken much more than just courage to push through. It’s taking everything; mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially.
We’ve been getting by so far, but the financial strain is starting to overwhelm. Between medical bills and medications not fully covered by insurance, daily expenses, and monthly bills, the costs are adding up fast. Ryan is out of work, and as his partner in life, I have also taken on a full-time caretaking position for him, leaving me out of work as well. So, I made this GoFundMe to help alleviate some of the financial hardships. Every donation made goes directly toward Ryan’s ongoing treatment and living expenses as we continue this fight.
Ryan’s attitude through all of this has been nothing short of inspiring. He’s determined to beat the odds.
We believe in that future, and we know that love and community can move mountains.
No matter a donation big or small, a simple sharing of this post, a prayer, or a message of support & hope ... it all means the world him.
Thank you for being part of Ryan’s fight. Together, we’ll show just how powerful love can be. ❤️
