Ryan Carrasco is a family man, a fisheries biologist, a climber, a skier, and a mountain biker. His wife, Kathia Wan, works for a local non profit, can make anyone laugh, and is the best mom around. Kaia, their 4 year old, loves to play with dogs, build Legos, dance to Dua Lipa, and put make-up on her dad.
Last weekend, Ryan suffered an unforeseen, freak accident and he was flown to HarborView Medical Center in Seattle. He underwent spine surgery, and was also treated for a brain hemorrhage. Just to be clear, he is not paralyzed!
Ryan is a seasonal worker, and he was off for the winter when the accident happened, meaning that his health insurance had lapsed. Due to the extent of the injuries, and the magnitude of the care required to stabilize and help, Ryan and his family are facing a daunting financial burden associated with his hospital bills, his recovery, and the work he will miss due to his injuries.
Please consider making a donation to help him and his family as they work through the new normal during and after his recovery from his injuries. If you can spread this request widely, that would be greatly appreciated, in addition to making any contributions that you can for Ryan, Kathia, and Kaia.
Please hold Ryan and his family in your thoughts, hopes, and prayers, as his recovery is still young, and the physical and financial toll of the accident not entirely known.
