We are reaching out to our community today to ask for support as we navigate an extraordinary medical journey for our family of seven. Until the age of 3, our sweet boy, Ryan, was a perfectly healthy, typical child hitting every milestone.

Then, he experienced a profound neurological tragedy. Almost overnight, Ryan lost his ability to speak or understand language. He developed severe, unpredictable seizures, lost bowel control, and began suffering from debilitating muscle issues that limit his mobility. He also suffers from severe neurological insomnia, frequently staying awake for 72 hours or more straight. We have spent years fighting for him. He has seen dozens of specialists across multiple major medical centers and has undergone every test imaginable, including advanced whole genome and exome sequencing at the Mayo Clinic.

While we continue to hunt for a definitive diagnosis, his daily care remains intensive. Because of his profound medical needs, Ryan requires dedicated, 24-hour one-on-one care to manage his sleep and wake cycles and ensure his safety. To provide this level of intensive care at home, our family has had to adapt. Only one parent can work on a part-time basis, which has drastically reduced our household income while our medical and living expenses continue to rise.

We are incredibly proud of our children, and we work tirelessly every day to care for Ryan while ensuring his four siblings have a stable, loving home. But the reality of managing a rare, complex medical condition of this scale means we need to build a larger circle of support.

What Your Donations Will Support:

Specialized Medical & Home Equipment: Funding items not fully covered by health insurance, specialized home safety gear such as a safety bed and safety car seat he desperately needs, adaptive equipment, and items to help manage his insomnia cycles.

Medical Travel and Care Logistics: Covering the ongoing costs of traveling to specialized medical centers, fixing the AC system in our van to make it safe for him to travel to necessary appointments in the hot weather, and coordinating his complex schedule.

Family Stability: Helping to supplement our household budget for groceries and basic necessities, back rent and utilities, and allowing us to keep our focus entirely on our children's well-being and health.
