Help Ryan Family of 8 - Texas Disaster
Donation protected
I have an urgent request for community support for a family of 8.
My cousin Richelle recently moved to Texas with her husband, beautiful children and grandchildren. Their area was hit extremely hard by the recent Texas storm. They lost all of their food, had no heat or electricity for days and to top it off, her husband was in a 20 car pile up in Austin which totaled their only vehicle and injured 32 other people. We are lucky he is still alive.
You guys I’m asking for any support for them and their family. My cousin and her husband have always worked hard to provide for their family and they NEVER ask for help because they are usually the ones giving. I know some of you may know how that goes!
Richelle flew to Tacoma right before the storm hit to attend her grandmother's funeral, and while she was here in Tacoma burying her grandma this lethal storm was ravaging her home and loved ones in Texas. She found out about her husband's accident while she was here mourning a great loss and when she was finally able to return back home she was greeted to the biggest catastrophe she has ever experienced. No heat, no lights, no electricity, and they were forced to put their perishable food in the snow as a last ditch effort for proper refrigeration.
This is A LOT for their family to process, not just physically, but emotionally, spiritually and financially.
I'm asking my community - folks that I know and don't know - please, please donate what you can! They have been told that their electricity bills will be astronomical, the insurance company is giving them the run around about paying for their damage and has refused to pay for their rental. Richelle missed WAY more days of work than expected due to the inability for flights to land at the airport in Texas, their mortgage and other bills are due, and they are currently eating boxes of canned food as most local grocery stores shelves have been wiped clean.
I am sure they need MUCH more than what I have asked for here so please share and give what you can! Anything helps, even if it's only a share.
Let’s show them that community support and mutual aid works & cover this beautiful Black family in love <3
