Help Ryan Earn His Master's of Counseling
Hi There!
I'm coming up on almost 15 years of work as a professional pastor, with ten of those years at the same congregation here in Massachusetts. As the years go by, more and more of my work involves mental health as an area of focus as I walk alongside people. Additionally, the faith tradition I represent is making more room for safe and helpful conversations about mental health as a major part of our flourishing as spiritual people. In order to better serve those under my care, and to help the Church continue toward better institutional strategy for mental health care, I am beginning the process to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I've been accepted and plan to being my part-time coursework in the Fall of 2021. In the long term I hope to contribute to healthier communities regardless of faith traditions.
The major challenge standing between me and this goal is the financial cost of a Master's of Counseling Degree .
Tuition for the degree (over the course of three years) is around $23,000. I'm receiving a scholarship that brings the tuition down to $16,500. I will of course be putting money toward the cost because I believe in this work, but in order to reduce the burden on my family I want to ask you:
