Help Ryan during his medical crisis

Hello my name is Spencer and I’m asking for your help in supporting my friend Ryan during a severe medical crisis. Ryan has been my closest friend for 35 years. Anyone who knows him, knows him to be a kind hearted, hard working, and all around great dude. Over two weeks ago, his appendix ruptured landing him in the hospital. Since then, he has suffered multiple complications and is currently in ICU. He has a long path of healing ahead of him, to say the least.

Ryan is a very talented bicycle mechanic. He works very hard, very rarely takes a sick day, and takes great pride in his work. He makes a modest living and lives a modest life. He has healthcare through the federal government that isn’t fantastic and he pays for out of pocket every month. We have no idea yet what his expenses for this hospitalization will finally add up to, but I happen to know that he does have an $8500 deductible that he will likely have to pay off on his own. In the meantime, he is also unable to work and his rent and bills will not be paid while he is recovering. Recovery is expected to take at least weeks and my guess is that it will be more like months.

Ryan is not the type to ask for hand outs or assistance. He proudly and promptly pays all of his bills and has always taken care of himself. This situation, however, is overwhelming, and while he might be unlikely to ask for help, he will definitely need it.

So this is why I’m asking my family and friends (and maybe their family and friends) to help my dear friend Ryan with some funds to help with his recovery. Anything you can give will be deeply appreciated. The goal I have set is meant to cover his deductible and hopefully his rent, utilities, and expenses for at least a few months during his recovery.
