Help Me Transform Lives in Fiji: Support My Leadership Journey
Hello everyone,
My name is Ryan Miner, and I have an incredible opportunity to travel to Fiji with the Covey Leadership Center at Utah State University over Spring Break 2025. This trip is more than just a chance to see a beautiful part of the world; it’s a unique leadership experience that will allow me to grow personally and professionally while making a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
Why Fiji?
Traveling to Fiji will expand my global perspective and understanding as I meet with principle-centered leaders in government, business, and education. We will engage in a service learning experience, spending four days living in a village and learning from the local inhabitants. This immersive experience will transform how I see the world and my potential in it.
My Purpose
The culmination of many life experiences has prepared me for this journey. I speak Marshallese, a language from the Marshall Islands, which has a culture similar to that of Fiji. I’ve spent countless hours serving the Marshallese community, helping them navigate the challenges of adapting to life in the United States. From interpreting legal documents to providing emotional support in difficult times, I’ve seen firsthand the struggles and resilience of islanders.
This trip to Fiji is a continuation of my mission to support and uplift island communities. By teaching the younger generation about responsibility, confidence, and accountability through “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” I hope to make a lasting impact. I believe one of my primary purposes on this earth is to bless the lives of islanders, and this trip is a significant step towards fulfilling that purpose.
How You Can Help
The total cost of the program is $1,850, plus airfare, which ranges from $950 to $1,500. This includes lodging, meals, ground transportation, cultural experiences, and medical insurance. All money fundraised will either be used to fulfill the goals of this trip or to bless the lives of the Fijian locals through donations (if there is a surplus). No money fundraised will be used for souvenirs or non-essential items.
I am reaching out to you, my friends, family, and community, to help me raise the funds needed to make this trip possible. Your support will not only help me grow as a leader but also enable me to contribute to the lives of the people in Fiji.
Thank You
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Any contribution, no matter how small, will bring me one step closer to this life-changing experience.
Let’s make a difference together!
Warm regards,
Ryan Miner
