Thanks for taking the time to check out yet another GO FUNDME. I was extremely reluctant to attempt this platform. I have been in Idyllwild for 14 years. I have seen major transitions. I was lucky enough to manage a Health food store for several years and I had even built a Probiotic Beverage company within that and grew it into a warehouse facility in Palm Springs. We distributed ALL over California. For those who remember Ancient Alchemy, I still have the same culture I have had for 2 decades. Its thriving. For those unfamiliar with it, it is a S.C.O.B.Y, a Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and yeast. It thrives together on a cellulose mat that it creates. Symbiosis at its finest. The combination of Green Tea and RAW Honey (that’s the trick) REAL HONEY, makes a phenomenal beverage like kombucha except the main culture is Lactobacillus not Acetobacter (acetic acid bacteria, like vinegar) Yeah ‘booch is vinegar folks. It’s got some extra goodies in there but ultimately, its vinegar with a fancy flavoring. The evolution of my health journey led me to Lions Mane Mushrooms. I was injured while roasting coffee. Lifting the 20lb tubs OVERHEAD into the hopper all day destroyed my neck and arms. I have carpal tunnel syndrome amongst several other physical maladies involving NERVES. So, I started to research and found out that Lions Mane Mushrooms rebuilds the myelin on the outside of the nerve cell. This allows it to communicate. I used to have numb hands at least 20% of the day. I would wake up all hours with my hand asleep and so painful it was hard to go back to sleep. It’s disrupted my life in more ways than I ever imagined. So, being the person I am I figured out how to grow Lions Mane mushrooms and started to eat lions mane burgers, crab cakes, etc. It just became a part of my regular diet . I noticed almost instantly that my hands weren’t falling asleep. This isn’t some “oh my god this product cured me I must share it with everyone” story. Not completely, anyway. Growing Mushrooms became such a part of my daily routine I cant imagine living without them now. They are in all phases all the time. I have petri dishes everywhere. Liquid culture to Innoculate grain bags. The pressure cooker is always running. I have the unique ability to scale up the operation that I have been running at home. I currently have a lot of equipment and some equipment that needs to be assembleed in order to atmospherically steam sterilize SEVERAL bags of substrate at one time per day. This GO FUND ME is really a GO FUND US. I want to grow LIONS MANE and OYSTER MUSHROOMS specifically for the mountain. PINK, Wild Texas Yellow and BLUE because who doesn’t love the Blue Oyster Cult???

What’s the catch?

The catch while I have over $6,000 invested in equipment, I do not have the cost to cover the 20’ shipping container delivered to the property I am negotiating in Idyllwild. That quote was $4,000. I want to serve the community directly. I want to create a space where people can learn how to grow mushrooms, at home, on their own. There will be 2 farmers markets in the local area to sell fruits at. THE GREEN THING nursery is also interested in providing a space for educating people how to grow mushrooms and supplying the materials necessary to grow them at home yourself. Idyllwild on Sunday and Anza on Thursdays. Whatever doesn’t sell directly at the farmers markets can be dehydrated, powdered and blended with other medicinal/adaptogenic and mixed into smoothies and make Lattes. There will be zero waste outside of the bags used to grow the mushrooms in. I am also working on a reusable plastic bucket technique to reduce waste even further. I want to make mycelium fabrics and other materials. There is a whole world of opportunities when it comes to mushrooms. I started the “Tie-Dye Rye Guy” YouTube channel to document my methods for growing mushrooms. The idea was a cute mascot to get everyone interested and excited about mushrooms. I didn’t think I would get 5k views on a video. I have been consulting with clients getting them growing their own mushrooms at home themselves. It’s been one on one and extremely time consuming because everyone has their own idiosyncrasies and ways and have to fail over and over again until they finally get it right. That is the trick. NEVER GIVE UP! I have been knocked down more times than one and I always get back up a little wiser and a little more concise. I am asking to crowdsource from the town. DO YOU WANT LIVING MUSHROOMS TO FEED YOUR FAMILY? Do you want your restaurants to have LOCALLY GROWN ORGANIC MUSHROOMS? Do you want your family to have access to workshops and a small farm to visit and a space to just relax and be?

I SURE DO!!!!!

WHOEVER DONATES MONEY TO THIS GO FUND ME WILL BE PROVIDED WITH PRODUCT WHEN EVERYTHING IS UP AND RUNNING. IT IS GOING TO TAKE A COUPLE MONTHS TO GET THE BULK GOING. THE 20’ Container is large enough to grow 900lbs of mushrooms per month. I will likely stagger them in thirds to start and get it going. I would Ideally be setup over near The Green Thing Nursery. There is well so I will be using mountain water. I have another spot in negotiation but Shade is really hard to beat when you are climate contolling an environment year round.

ULTIMATELY I need $10,000.

I need 4k for the container, I need another Grand for a shed to be built to put the clean room in and maintain all the grains. The insulation, ducting, inline fan, etc will also be part of the costs. I have a 12-disc fogger so I can make humidity!!! I also have 2 Laminar Flow Hoods to work in front of. I have some NSF racks ready to go. I just need to get over this hump.

WHOEVER DONATES. WHATEVER AMOUNT, YOU WILL GET PRODUCT. NO ONE WILL BE LEFT BEHIND! I appreciate any and all help I can get. It is so hard to ask for help in a world where we have to pretend like we have it all together all the time. I work full-time and am available after 2pm daily to work at the mushroom farm. This dream is so close to becoming a reality that just 20$ from 500 people can make it happen.
