Ryan Connor and Briana Connor Garcia grew up in the neighborhoods surrounding the Sutton Brook Superfund Site in Tewksbury, MA. For decades, their family and neighbors unknowingly consumed contaminated municipal well water, exposing them to PFAS, VOCs, PCBs, and heavy metals. The health impacts have been profound and lasting—Ryan was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma at a young age, while Briana was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and systemic scleroderma. Both continue to show concerning levels of PFAS in their blood, even years after leaving the area. Briana, in particular, suffers daily from the long-term effects of exposure, experiencing constant pain and unable to eat or drink without severe symptoms. Their story is not unique; many in their community have faced rare and early-onset illnesses, and only recently has the true scope of exposure come to light.
Despite seeking help through traditional allopathic medicine, Ryan and Briana have found no relief or hope for healing. Insurance does not cover alternative approaches, leaving them without access to the care they need. They are now turning to terrain-forward practitioners—those who believe in supporting the body’s innate capacity to heal through holistic, terrain-based methods. The costs for these treatments are significant and entirely out-of-pocket, creating a major barrier to their recovery.
By supporting this fundraiser, you are helping Ryan and Briana access the care that offers them the best chance at comfort and healing. Your generosity will provide hope not only for them, but for thousands of others who have been exposed to toxic chemicals and are struggling to heal and seek justice. Ryan and Briana are deeply grateful for your support and believe that, with the right help, they can reclaim their health and inspire broader awareness about the urgent need for terrain-based healing and environmental justice.
