Hi, I’m Ryan (he/they), and I’m raising funds to move across the country to Oregon—a place where I’ll finally have access to the care, protection, and stability I need to survive and heal.

If you’ve known me—recently or from a past chapter—you probably know how much I’ve overcome: I’m a disabled, trans person who’s worked hard to rebuild a life after trauma, get sober, and survive in a body with complex chronic illnesses.

Florida is no longer safe or sustainable for me. The climate is dangerous for my health, and the political landscape grows more hostile by the day—especially for disabled and trans people. Oregon offers a real chance at stability:

• Access to Medicaid

• Higher likelihood of being approved for SSDI

• Trans-affirming healthcare

• Public transportation

• Legal protections that don’t exist where I am now

I’m planning to move by October 1st to avoid another winter without healthcare and to stay ahead of further restrictions in Florida. I’ve secured stable housing in Oregon, and I’m doing everything I can to save up through dog sitting and gig work—but I can’t cover the full cost of this move on my own.

• Cost toward ground transport for my cat, Bodhi, after I arrive: $350

• ESA letter for Bodhi: $150

• Transport to/from airports: $100

• Portable medical needs: $200

• MCAS-friendly toiletries & food: $250

• Emergency funds for food or unexpected delays: $150

• Thrifted cold-weather gear: $100

• Thrifted housing supplies: $200

Total goal: $1,500

If we pass the goal, anything extra will go toward settling in safely—groceries, transit passes, winter essentials, or replacing medical gear I might have to leave behind.

Bodhi—my cat and emotional support animal—has been with me through everything. He’s more than a pet; he’s part of my survival. I won’t be able to fly with him due to health limitations, but your support will help cover the cost of safe ground transport to reunite us once I’m settled.
