Help Ryan Battle Psoriasis and Latent Tuberculosis
Donation protected
Two years ago, I was diagnosed with psoriasis, and since then, my life has become a constant battle. The itching never stops, and the pain is relentless. It feels like a never-ending nightmare. I was on Medicaid at the time and visited a dermatologist, but with limited coverage, the treatment wasn’t effective. Nearly 85% of my body is now covered in psoriasis.
I was on Humira, and it was starting to help, but then the only dermatologist in my town retired, and my skin flared up again. Recently, I got insurance through my job and was able to see a new dermatologist. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with latent tuberculosis. While it's not contagious, it’s serious. If left untreated and combined with certain medications, it could turn into full-blown tuberculosis.
Now, I need to seek treatment at an infectious disease center, but my insurance has a $4,000 deductible, which is incredibly difficult to manage on my own. I don’t make much money, and even with the insurance, the costs are overwhelming.
One of the medications I'm being prescribed, Tremfya, costs $13,000 per shot, and I’m expected to pay 40% of the prescription cost. I’m unsure if my deductible will even cover it once I start the shots, which adds even more uncertainty and stress to the situation.
I’m humbling myself and reaching out for help. I can’t afford the treatment out-of-pocket, and I’m asking for any support you can offer to help cover these critical medical expenses. Your generosity would mean the world to me, and with your help, I can get the treatment I need to improve my health and future.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and for considering helping me in this time of need.
