Near the beginning of November 2023 Ryan began to experience symptoms of abdominal pain, nausea, bloating, and vomiting that worsened until he was seen by a doctor on 11/22/23 where a CT was obtained showing a large bowel obstruction caused by a mass in the transverse colon. Ryan was taken to Bryan ER where he was then taken urgently to surgery to remove a large part of his colon. After a roller coaster of multiple doctor visits, scans, and tests we've found Ryan has a neuroendocrine tumor that is behaving aggressively like a neuroendocrine carcinoma and Ryan has metastases in his liver and abdomen that have grown in size since his diagnosis. He therefore is going to need an aggressive chemotherapy regimen. Our goal is to help support Ryan, Gina, Karter, Logan, Mitchell, Piper and their family as they move forward with Ryan’s treatment.
