Help Ryan and Jolie

Donation protected

Friends,
Ryan and Jolie need our help.

Jolie sent out this email over the weekend. It was hard for me to read
but I am sure just as hard for her to write.

I am very worried about both of them.  I decided that it is time to see
what we can all do to pitch in and help.  Ryan is very sick and is working hard to get better. I don't thinks we all understand Lyme disease and
what is happening to Ryan physically or mentally. The rumors are not
true. He is not in need of rehab. He is very sick!  But as you can see in
Jolie's email they have the stress of not having funds to help pay for
medicine or just to live during this tough time.

Ryan has always loved and helped friends in need. I hope and pray we
can help him get through this.

Please read Jolie's email copied below and do what you can to help.

Thank you,

Ryan is in dire need of support from anyone that still loves him. I think we are both at rock bottom. In some ways his physical health is improving, however his mental health is deteriorating. He has so many Lyme infections in his brain he cannot think straight. He has been told by his naturopath that he is showing signs of early dementia. He is in constant physical pain throughout parts of his body. His short term memory is terrible. He gets lost or turned around all the time. He passes out often. He suffers horrible panic attacks, especially when he comes to Portland. He/we have been told by his therapist and his naturopath that he should NOT be working (his therapist actually says that he can't work). His naturopath doesn't want him watching more than one hour a day of TV. Doesn't want him using a computer and that he should limit his time reading or writing because he needs to rest his brain. His therapist is treating him for free because she is so worried about him and knows that we don' t have the money to pay for it. Ryan' s dad as most of you know is terminal right know, and under the care of hospice at home. The tumor that will eventually take his life was brought on by symptoms that are eerily similar to what Ryan is being treated for. Ryan's dad has been giving us money to live on that he should be keeping for Val after he passes. Brenna's mom has given him thousands of dollars to cover his treatment protocol. I am sure Ryan would be dead by now without their help. And I have no doubt in my mind that he would be dead by now if I had not moved out here to care for him.

> I am writing to tell you that we have been turned down on Ryan's initial application for social security disability. That is pretty typical. we have hired an attorney to fight it and they think we have a strong case and will win. However it will take approximately two years before we will be able to appear before a judge. When we win he will receive back benefits to the time of application, less a  month waiting period and less attorney fees. He will then be eligible for up to a whopping $2700 per month plus another $1300 until Jaden turns 19 (Jaden is 17 now). Ryan's treatment protocol alone can cost between $500 - $1000 per month and not a penny is covered by insurance. We have been turned down by the PCP's that the state insurance has assigned to us because they don't want to take him on once they see his records. We are out of money and have no safety net. I can see how people end up on the streets.

I am asking his friends that if you care about him at all to please reach out to him. He/we rarely hear from most of you. If he was being treated for cancer I feel like people would care more. But he has a fucked up disease that anyone can get at random, that people don't believe he is sick, that insurance will not pay for treatment, and that disability will not cover, but the worst is that the people you thought cared are not there for you. If you love him at all please, please let him know. Le t me know. I don't want my next email to be me telling you he's gone. He needs your help. I need your help. Today is Ryan and my 12th wedding anniversary. I am praying this will not be our last.
