On Tuesday September 17th oliver came home from school to find ryan faced down on our bed, breathing but not responding and not waking up. Oliver screamed and called me and I was like 2 minutes away. I immediately got home, ran up the stairs to find exactly what Oliver described. I immediately called 911 and they showed up and rushed him to good Sam's. We spent 12 hours in the hallway before we got into a room. They told me after I demanded a ct that my husband had several strokes and needed to be transferred immediately to tacoma generals neurology icu. But they were afraid to move him and let me know that I could lose my husband. After 2 to 3 hours they finally came up with a plan to safely move him. They got him to tacoma general and rushed him straight for a ct and ct with contrast. After they got him set up in his room and told me the results..he had over 15 strokes and has a blood clot on the left side of his brain that they can't get to but were confident that they could get it to discenagrate slowly with medications. He did wake up luckily Friday morning and we realized he couldn't see and his speech was slurred. But after a few days he has been able to regain some colors, shapes and shadows. And he's working on his speech. He has full use of his fingers, toes, arms and legs. Then on Monday they moved him out of the icu to the regular neurology ward. They did alot of pt with him. His brain swelling has gone down a little but it will take a few months for it to fully go down. Fingers crossed. And his clot has gotten small enough that it's no longer blocking his artery. He has been released from the hospital but we have a long road ahead of us. I don't know when or if my husband will ever be able to work again. He was our main source of income. I know we will have alot of medical bills coming as well as our normal bills. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated.
