If you’ve ever been to Jump Shack, you know exactly who Ruty is.

And if you don’t you’ve definitely felt his presence.

Ruty isn’t just part of our team… he is the heart of the place.

As our main lifeguard, he carried huge responsibility every single day. While everyone else was having fun, relaxing, diving, and enjoying the pool, Ruty was the one watching over everyone. He took his role seriously. He made sure people were safe. He stayed alert. He protected our guests. He cared.

But beyond that, it’s his personality that makes him unforgettable. His smile. His kindness. His calm energy. The way he welcomes every single person like they matter. Customers ask for him by name. Locals adore him. Tourists remember him long after they’ve flown home. He has become such a big part of our community here.

Sadly, Ruty is no longer able to work due to circumstances outside of his control. He has been diagnosed with Tuberculosis and because of this, he now has to return to his home country to be with his family during this incredibly difficult time, have all the support he needs!

This means:

• Sudden loss of income

• Unexpected travel costs

• Leaving the community he helped build

• Starting again from scratch

For someone who has given so much of himself his time, his energy, his loyalty, his protection we want to give something back.

Ruty showed up every single day for us. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
