Hi everyone. As many of you know, I’m going through a bit of a rough patch. I found out recently I have breast cancer as well as was told I was being let go from my job. And I have a dog with heart worm to boot who begins injections this month for that. I’m of course trying to figure out the job situation and what my options are. I will either be on unemployment soon or taking a job for way less salary for the foreseeable future. Either way, not an ideal time to be going through cancer treatment or have instability. I will do whatever it takes though and I’m trying to keep my head up in spite of the fact that I’m a bit scared of the future. Being a single mom is hard anyway but trying to keep it together for all of us while going through this has been trying.
As for what is next, I had my lumpectomy this week and will have my post op appt in just over a week. I will then meet with medical oncologist and radiation oncologist in mid-December to begin the next part of this journey with hormone therapy and radiation. I will update on my caringbridge site.
I appreciate all the love and support sent my way. I never knew how lonely this time of my life could be and can’t imagine how much more lonely it would be without you all.
I know not everyone has a few dollars to spare to help with anything that I’ll be going through the next few months on all fronts, but please know I appreciate a visit just as much. If you can help though, know that we appreciate it greatly for taking some of the burden and stress off the next several months.
“Be the change you wish to see in the world”
Another quote I live by and the one that is going to help me get to the other side of this and become a better person for it.
Go Birds! Go Sixers!
Thank you. ❤️
