Let's Help Rutha Reach Recovery

On Friday, September 3rd, Ruth “Rutha” Semere, beloved daughter, sister, and friend was involved in a serious, near fatal accident in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She was traveling with family, and the accident happened during an adventure tour. Her injuries were so severe that she was transported to a local hospital and upon arrival, immediately taken into an emergency surgery. Rutha sustained injuries including a broken pelvis, two broken ribs, and a collapsed lung. She lost an incredible amount of blood, totaling 2.5 Liters. The medical team in Cabo San Lucas determined that her injuries were life threatening and that surgery was her only hope for Rutha’s survival. For her health, safety and additional treatment she was transported via emergency jet to the United States to Highland Hospital in Oakland, California. She has been in their care since September 4th, 2021.

 

Rutha has been stabilized and is conscience. She will begin rehabilitative care when her strength has increased. At this point, we are uncertain about Rutha’s long term prognosis, nor when she will be able to return to her life, family, and her work. We ask you to keep her in your ongoing prayers.

 

Rutha’s family is in desperate need for your support at this time. They are facing growing medical bills which already exceed $100,000 as a result of the emergency airlift from Mexico to the United States. Your support will help to alleviate the financial burden from overwhelming medical costs and also ensure that Rutha will receive ongoing treatment.
