Help Ruth Chu's Medical Costs

Ruth Chu is a dear friend who has served other people her whole life. She was a leader in BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) for 10 years and has served as a deacon in her church. She has continued to lead in small group settings up to her most recent hospitalization. She is a friend to many and cares deeply for other people.

Ruth was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. Chemotherapy put it in remission for a couple of years, but it came back with nodules in the liver and other places. She has gone through three different treatment regimens, each of which worked for a while and then failed. There was another experimental therapy that looked promising, but her liver was too diseased for that to be possible. A week ago her oncologist told her there are no more treatment options and she has 3 weeks to 3 months to live. We are still praying for a miracle to turn this around as God can do anything. They transferred her to a hospice facility where she has been for a week. We just found out that this facility is for acute care only. She is unable to even get out of bed because of the edema and ascites (fluid in the gut) so she needs to go to a long-term hospice facility. Those facilities are not covered by her insurance plus her employer has stopped paying her. The money raised will pay for Ruth’s care during this season of her life.
