Help Ruth Chesky with Covid ICU Expenses
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
My names Christina and I’m starting this GoFundMe to raise funds and support for my Mother, Ruth Chesky who is currently in the ICU with Covid Pneumonia.
On Wednesday October 6th, my Mom went into the ER with covid symptoms, and oxygen levels being lower than 70%. They were able to determine that she has Covid Pneumonia and get her on a bi-pap machine to help with her breathing. After 24 hours, her O2 levels were still barely breaking the 90% mark, and she was moved into the ICU on Thursday.
As of Thursday evening, my mom is in critical condition. The doctors have recommended intubation, to further help her breathe, and get her O2 levels where they need to be. She has not been intubated yet, and is trying to focus on her breathing as much as possible without it. She’s incredibly strong, and pushing through this like superwoman so she can come home.
The doctors are estimating that she will need to remain in the hospital and be monitored for up to 5 weeks. Medical expenses for the ICU and being intubated are incredibly expensive. Even with insurance, the bills after the fact will be over $115,000; that’s just a rough estimate and the total is currently unknown. We are praying for a miracle with the bills.
All of the funds donated will first be used towards the medical expenses preceding my moms treatment. If we can raise more than we need to cover the expenses, all additional funds will be donated to others in need.
Please keep my mom in your prayers for a quick recovery, and strength while she is alone in the ICU. We do thankfully get moments where we can talk to her, but she is very focused on recovery and does not have the energy for much conversation.
Thank you for reading through this, and any donations you are able to offer. My family and I appreciate keeping her in your prayers through this difficult time.
