Help Ruth Anne Fight a Brain Tumor & Medical Debt
Donation protected
My mother, Ruth Anne, has been going through a difficult time since she was diagnosed with a brain tumor in August of 2022. She has been battling to get payments from insurance companies, struggling to find proper medical care in rural Arkansas, and is currently losing her hearing among many other ailments caused by the tumor. She is the primary guardian of her grandchild and she is unable to work, which has made it even more challenging to manage her medical expenses. My step-father is working himself to the bone to support my mom and family and needless to say, my family is stretched thin.
To make matters worse, my mother was originally misdiagnosed, which has caused delays in proper care. As a result, she is currently over $25,000 in medical debt, and this number is growing every day. This debt is overwhelming, and we are struggling to keep up with it all while battling with Aetna to get coverage my family pays for.
My mother owns an art gallery and community space in rural Arkansas that is at risk of closing due to her health issues. She has put her heart and soul into providing a safe space for people in her community. Reduced hours due to medical problems have put my mom at risk of losing everything she works so hard for. She's a badass who fights for what's right and stands up for the disenfranchised. She goes through hell to keep the space up and running even though she is constantly getting pushback from her community because of her mission statement that preaches acceptance.
So here I am asking you all for help. I am setting up this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to help cover my mother's medical expenses, living expenses, and to ensure that her art gallery and community space can stay open.
She is currently battling the state for disability, and battling doctors for proper information.
Thank you for your generosity and support. Your donation will make a huge difference in her life and help her take the next steps in getting the care she needs and deserves.
