Hello everyone!
The Rutgers University Valorant team has qualified for two major collegiate LAN events, NACE and CECC! While we are able to cover travel to NACE, we need additional support to attend CECC in Waco, Texas.
In order to get the team to CECC, we have started a GoFundMe to support travel costs for this event. At this time we note that the Rutgers team does not receive any additional support in scholarships or institutional money. In addition, the players have put their academics at the forefront, focusing on coursework ranging from computer science to engineering tracks with an average team GPA of 3.5+, while competing at this high level. Some of our players are also Educational Opportunity Fund students with many of them participating in leadership positions or cultural clubs across campus.
This past year, the team has placed 8th (out of 128 teams) in the North America Open Qualifiers while also placing 4th (out of 32 teams) at the Red Bull Dorm Ground. Additionally, the Rutgers team was also invited to attend the Red Bull Homeground event, where many top International teams, including both tier 1 and tier 2 pro teams, also competed for a large prize pool.
Our goal is $3,500 to help cover flight costs, while players will personally fund lodging. Any support, big or small, means a lot to us. We have also included the Rutgers VLR for proof of results.
Thank you!
