My name is Teri Hodges, and Gilbert Ashurst II (Rusty) was a dear family friend. His mother, Donna, and my mother, Barbara, were best friends. We grew up together, and I've known him his whole life. Rusty passed away unexpectedly at home on March 10, 2025. He was only 59 years old. This is a devastating loss for his beautiful family. Rusty was very close to his mother, Donna Ashurst, his brother, Rory Ashurst, his son, Taylor, his daughter, Lauren, and his two grandchildren, River and Atzi. Family meant everything to him. Rusty had a heart of gold and was so kind and loving to everyone he met. He had a great sense of humor, and his laughter was contagious.
