Rusty has recently been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare and serious form of cancer affecting his blood and bones. However, due to the nature of his self-employment, he is not eligible for short-term disability benefits, which leaves him without a crucial safety net during this critical period. The loss of income has placed an enormous financial strain on him.

Rusty remains in high spirits, however the pain has pretty much left him sedentary. Treatment will begin next week, which will be inclusive of several types of chemo and stem cell replacement as far as we know today.
