My name is Ashly. Russell is my boyfriend of almost six years. In 2022, Russell was let go from his job while being out on short-term disability for anxiety and depression. Shortly before Russell was let go from his job, he noticed some swelling in his testicle. Unfortunately, him being let go meant he lost his insurance, and we couldn't afford insurance being a one-income family. He tried to get unemployment; however, he was denied, so the last few years have been a rollercoaster of emotions and challenges.

Since 2022, his swelling increased astronomically, leaving him in pain and unable to work because standing for any length of time causes him to be in pain for days. With the help of the health department, we were finally able to get him some answers; however, it wasn't the news we were expecting. On March 28th, Russell was diagnosed with testicular cancer and metastatic lung disease. He will need to have everything from PET scans to chemo and possibly radiation. He was denied Tenncare, and we are also being made to leave our home of almost 5 years.

We ask that you please consider donating to help us get the treatment he needs and to help us get into a home so he may have the best chance of beating this. Russell is the sweetest, most caring person I've ever met and has changed my life in ways he doesn't even understand. He is the type of man that if you need a friend to talk to, he's there no matter what's going on. If someone needed help with anything, he's the first person to ask what he can do to help.
