Help Reunite Russell with His Children During Life-Saving Transplant Recovery
Hi, my name is Debbie, and I'm fundraising for my nephew, Russell Butler, a 35-year-old independent truck driver and devoted father of two.
Just over three weeks ago, Russell's son found him unresponsive on the living room floor. He was rushed by ambulance to a local hospital in South Dakota, where doctors discovered he was in liver and kidney failure. After initial treatment, it became clear that Russell needed a life-saving liver transplant, and possibly kidney transplant as well.
Once stabilized, Russell was emergency airlifted to a transplant center in Nebraska, where he is now on the donor list and receiving intensive care. His recovery will be long potentially up to a year and he will require continuous medical support throughout.
A Dad Separated from His Children
Russell's children ages 8 and 14, are still in South Dakota. They haven't seen their dad since this crisis began. They desperately want and need to be with him during this critical time. But the cost of temporary housing near the hospital is $79 per night, not including food and transportation.
Russell has been out of work due to the economy, and now, with his health in crisis, he has no way to generate income to support his family's needs.
Our Goal
We are raising funds to help cover:
- Medical expenses not covered by insurance
- Travel, lodging, and food for his children to be with him
- Basic living costs during his recovery
Any gift big or small will make a difference and help this family reunite and heal together. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and community.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and prayers. God bless.
