Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support during the most difficult chapter our family has ever faced.

A few weeks ago, my dad, Russell Steward, suffered a life-changing accident. He fell off a roof deck, roughly 15 feet, resulting in a spinal cord injury that has left him paralyzed from the chest down.

In an instant, my dad's world was forever changed.

As he begins the long road to recovery, my dad will need significant help to regain as much independence and comfort as possible. My parents' home is far from equipped to handle the demands of his new reality, and the financial burden of medical care, equipment, and home renovations is overwhelming.

We’re asking for your help to give my dad the tools he needs to adapt to his new life. Your contributions will go toward critical renovations and equipment, including:

A wheelchair-accessible bathroom: $25,000
A wheelchair ramp for their home: $1,200
Widening doorways for wheelchair access: $5,000
A used wheelchair-accessible van: $40,000
A specialized shower chair (not covered by insurance): $2,420
20% of the costs for a Hoyer lift: $600
20% of wheelchair costs: $8,000
