I've recently experienced some challenging issues which has gotten me to the point where I need to reach out to my past and present friends for help to get me thru this difficult period in my life. I hope I do not offend anyone with this request for help. If I do, I apologize and please ignore this request.
For you that do not know me, I have been a Professional Caddy for the last 15 years or so. Not like what you see on TV, but similar. I am a club caddy and travel from Private Club to Resort, wherever there is need of a caddy. It is a demanding and very physical job to say the least. I am currently at Bandon Dunes Resort in Bandon, Oregon. At one point or another I have been all over the country.
About three weeks ago, I had an incident with my heart. I was taken by ambulance to a local hospital who told me I was having a heart attack. I was sent to another hospital which spent that night and the next day performing numerous tests on me. The final conclusion was maybe, but all looked OK right now. I was put on BP medication and told to take it easy for the next couple weeks and I could go back to work. Well, I did not react well to some of the medications I was given and over the last week I have developed an irregular heart beat. This required another trip to the ER. More tests and drugs and again no definitive reason why all this was happening. Within the next week I am scheduled to see a cardiac specialist to see what is really going on and if I will require some surgery to fix my heart.
So it has been a difficult last few weeks. I have come back to work and worked a minimal amount the last few weeks. No time is a good time to have this happen, but this time is especially tough as the next four months is when I work the hardest and hopefully save enough to get me thru the winter months. I do not see this happening at all. On top of that I have had to take care of my 18 year old cat for the last year who was terminally ill and passed about four weeks ago. She was my family and meant the world to me. Unfortunately what little savings I had was used to take care of her and I have no regrets doing so.
With all that being said, I have been setting into motion things to gradually get me out of the caddy business because of its physical demands. I purchased a drift boat last year and recently acquired my guide license so that I can take people fishing on the rivers in Southern Oregon for Salmon and Steel-head. I've mad alot of headway in getting this in motion but alot of work still needs to be done to make this a viable full time money making job. I was hoping to gradually get into this but it looks like I may have to start down that road a little quicker.
In the short term I am living day to day monetarily with zero savings. I am behind in all my bills and have no real hope of working enough to save for the winter months. It looks like I will have to have some type of surgery to fix my irregular heart beat and I will not be able to work too much afterwords.
So I am reaching out to you my friends and acquaintances asking for help. I do not do this lightly. For you that know me I have always done things for myself and never shied away from working hard for what I needed my entire life.
However you can help, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated and I will always be in your debt. Hopefully you will be out in Oregon at some point and I will still be breathing the Earths air and I will be able to take you down one of Oregon's beautiful rivers to catch a Salmon or Steel-head.
