Today, my brother Russ and his wife Julie experienced a devastating house fire that left their home a total loss. Thankfully, Russ, Julie, their tenants, and all their animals made it out safely, but they have lost everything they own. Right now, our family and friends are coming together to provide shelter and gather clothes, but the road ahead is long and uncertain.

Russ and Julie are the kind of people who always give back. Julie spends her time picking up litter all over town, working hard, and caring for Russ and her beloved chickens. Russ is sight impaired, but it rarely slows him down—he’s always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word. The outpouring of support from neighbors and friends has been incredible, with many stopping by to ask how they can help.

Insurance is in the works, but there are so many immediate needs as they start to rebuild their lives. Any help you can offer will go directly to supporting Russ and Julie through these first few weeks—helping with essentials, temporary living expenses, and giving them hope as they begin to recover.
